Yeah well again I’m moving on to a new place, and since I find twitter very annoying, I’ve decided to go for the smaller community at identi.ca and see if I get any notice there. I most certainly want to continue this Bullshit Blog, but I’m just having trouble finding a suitable place for it.

Starting a twitter

I’ve been thinking for a while about why exactly I haven’t had the inspiration to post regularly here, and I came to the conclusion that although I still find many things to be bullshit, I don’t have all that much to write about them. Therefore I have decided to start a Bullshit Blog twitter account in hopes that I can post daily mini blogs about what exactly pissed me off on any particular day without writing big 200 word blogs like I did here. Maybe this idea will be successful.

Lack of inspiration

As of late I haven’t had all that many good ideas for bullshit to rant on, and because of this I’m not entirely sure about the future of this blog. I will still use it from time to time ranting if I feel passionate about something, but for now I am not updating; sorry.

Scooby Doo is bullshit

I am a really big fan of the Scooby Doo shows, but when I start to overanalyze the show as I do everything, it turns out that it’s all bullshit! My first problem: A talking dog… what the hell is that shit? Are all the characters supposed to be hallucinating when Scooby Doo talks, or was it just the writers that were on drugs? A talking dog is neither believable, nor is it in any way an important part of the plot or relevant to the message that is trying to be put out by the show. One more bullshit thing is the guys in masks… what the mother fuck is that shit? This show expects us to believe that every single goddamn one of these bad guys’ only plan is to put on a shitty costume and try to scare people away from whatever they are trying to hide. Not only is this bound to get boring after 500 episodes, but its lazy, unacceptable writing. Scooby Doo never fails to make me laugh, cry, and shout BULLSHIT all at the same time.

Rubik’s Cubes are Bullshit

Like anyone, I have at one point tried and miserably failed at solving a Rubik’s Cube, and I can’t help but feel obliged to comment on it. What pisses me off about the Rubik’s Cube is that it is intentionally designed to confuse and anger anyone who picks it up; who the fuck do the makers of this product think they are, making money off of people’s misery? What sucks the most is that they haven’t even stopped at the normal 3×3 kind, but they had to go and create cubes that go all the way up to 7×7! I doubt I could finish the 2×2 one on my own, never mind the 6×6 or 7×7, thats just insanity. And other than that, why is it that in this economy, a product that causes so much misery and torture can still be sold? I give way too much credit to America when nobody here deserves it, and the Rubik’s Cube really proves that we have not evolved so far away from the neanderthals our ancestors were. Rubik’s Cube. Bullshit.

The Misuse of Comic Sans is Bullshit

As someone who is starting to get more and more into Typography, I find myself facepalming particularly hard at the misuse of Comic Sans that I see almost every day. Some people will say that Comic Sans should never be used at all, and while I won’t go that far, I still believe that it should be used sparingly at most. The problem with Comic Sans is that it gives out a childish or laid back vibe and should only be used mainly as a header for things of that nature. What Comic sans should not be used for is writing entire papers, regardless of the mood of that paper, and for things meant to be taken seriously, such as a sign with rules on it. Many people with no knowledge of fonts will be designing or writing something, and when it comes to choosing a font they will see Comic Sans and think “Wow, that sounds like a fun font!” and then carelessly use it. My English teacher for example, types everything in Comic Sans, mainly because she does not know how to font and just uses it because it has the word ‘comic’ in it, but it doesn’t work well when she gives out, say, a test written in it. Long Receipts are Bullshit!

Have you ever gone to a store to buy a couple things and then gotten a receipt that was over a foot long? I know I have, and it pisses me off! These stores think they’re being nice by including a coupon or two in their receipts while really what they are doing is unnecessary and wasteful. If you’re like me, you may glance at your receipt after buying something and then immediately discard it, not even paying attention to any coupon that might have been included because they are usually scams anyway. By this logic, stores should just save their printing of coupons for the newspaper, magazines, or online; that way people who actually want them can go looking for them. Another fact that bugs the environmentalist in me is that these receipts being so long is wasting a lot of paper, especially if the store is printing them for every customer that buys something. And nobody would ever think to recycle their receipt; usually they get thrown on the ground in the parking lot or get put in the plastic bag, which then gets thrown away. Bottom line is that stores that print long receipts to give to every customer are bullshit, and they need to stop.

Bullshit

You know what I hate? Everything! Yup, everything in life is pretty much bullshit. I’m just here living my life and then the man has to come in and take away my freedoms and make me unwillingly go through these processes that everybody is expected to go through. These include school and education, as well as not acting out, and trying to fit in with the rest of society as much as possible. We are all innocently sitting at home having fun, and then they break down our doors and start forcing us to conform to society and go through simple yet demeaning things in order to ease our fit into a mold in the near future when we get jobs. The bullshit doesn’t stop there though. Amazingly if we managed to get through the years fitting in with society without killing ourselves, now the world has left us old and senile, not aware of any recent innovations in technology and just sitting at home trying to make the best of our existence. At this point one could say that it is the ultimate irony, since we are now free from the hold of the man, but its constant hold onto us for the past 50 years has just left us confused and dead inside. Along the way in life, one has to deal with many other bullshit things such as laws, jobs, and people. All of these things are bullshit one way or another. Laws are restrictive, and everybody knows that they should only apply to those other than yourself, but it can’t work that way and it won’t work that way. Jobs are necessary, but they are downright boring and useless in the end, but we have to do the jobs presented to us or else… something will happen, I’m not sure what, but it’s gotta be bad. Trust Me. Lastly is people, and they are the most bullshit of all; just think about it, people are the reason for all this bullshit in life, making them the ultimate bullshit. So all in all, everything is bullshit. The End.
